" Excuses are the nails used to build a house of failure" - unknown
Excuses are connected with the attempt to blame, the attempt to defend or justify, to release someone from a duty, or/and an example of someone lacking.
"Excuses are tools of the incompetent which lead to monuments of nothingness and those who indulge in them will be seldom capable of anything." Paul Adefarasin
I have been hearing this word a lot in the past year; recently due to COVID, increase of gas prices, increase of food prices, health care cost, ongoing relationships; these are major things that set us back due to fear and a new abrupt change in our lives. Eventually we had/have to adjust and make it work because life goes on.
At times we must pick our battles when to do something and when not to do something but if you say you're going to do something then you need to do it! The Messenger speaks on Excuses: The Cost of Excuses on May 31, 2021, stating "it is important you find a way, if not you will find an excuse."
An example: I just came back from a trip 2-3 weeks ago and I removed the sheets off my bed, spray it, air it out my bed, but I have yet to put new sheets on my bed. I instead changed my pillowcases only and placed blankets over my mattress. I have been sleeping on top of my blankets. When did I become so lazy to make up my bed?
Excuses will reveal yourself, expose yourself, and show you what you value more.
I rather curl up and read a good book than get myself up and make up my bed, who am I right now? That has never been me, so why am I like that now? Hence, a new avenue where excuses come in .... JUST DO IT! Be Ready!
If your day is slam with activities don't commit to everything you see or asked to do. Sometimes you might have to reevaluate your priorities in order to get the necessary stuff done.
Luke 14: 15-21
This brings me back to my bed sheets. If I wasn't willing to complete the task, I should have never started by taking them off. My bed would of still remain made up instead looking like mess. Guess what I am doing after I write this? YUP, making my bed!
Now this brings us to God, if we don't choose him first, we will keep making excuses not to spend time with Him. Our lives will get harder than they need to be because we are making excuses.
Let's stop making excuses.
Follow through on what you started or required to do.
Strengthen your roots and foundation so you no longer abide in the place called Excuses.
Always with Love,
A.P.E.P.
